Paramount Pictures, accompanied by Nickelodeon are bring the green back. Oh yeah! They’ve managed to get Michael Bay and his Platinum Dunes partners, Brad Fuller and Andrew Form, on to produce Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, the live-action film reboot for the kickass film series launched by New Line way back in 1990. Bay, Fuller and Form are to produce alongside Galen Walker and Scott Mednick.
The producers will begin meetings with writers in the next few weeks with nunchucks in hand. This puts Michael Bay at the helm of two Paramount franchises, given the ongoing production of Transformers 3, which is now pegged to star Rosie Huntington-Whitely, replacing the sultry Megan Fox as Shia LaBeouf’s geek love interest.
TNMT will be a co-production between Paramount and Nickelodeon, and is an outgrowth of the $60 million acquisition made by Nick last October for global rights to the entire Turtles franchise. Don’t keep your fingers crossed on a R rated TNMT. We wish, but something need to be restricted for Manga.
