Oprah Winfrey Lesbian Rumor – Oprah On Gayle King

The Oprah Winfrey lesbian rumors have been around for years now. The talk show host, and businesswoman, even went ahead and acknowledged them recently with a firm “I’m not a lesbian”.

In an interview with Barbara Walter, the 56-year-old talk show queen flatly denies any homosexual tendencies. Here’s what she said in the upcoming ABC interview:

“I’m not even kind of a lesbian. And the reason why [the rumor] irritates me is because it means that somebody must think I’m lying. That’s number one. Number two … why would you want to hide it? That is not the way I run my life.”

Most of the rumors surrounding Oprah’s supposed lesbian orientation have much to do with the public relationship she shares with friend Gayle King. Winfrey took note of her closeness with King, and made the below mentioned remarks:

“She is … the mother I never had. She is … the sister everybody would want. She is the friend that everybody deserves. I don’t know a better person. I don’t know a better person.”

“It’s making me cry because I’m thinking about … how much … I probably have never told her that. Tissue, please. I now need tissue. I’ve never told her that.”

The interview is special because is marks the scheduled May-end of her syndicated show, and the beginning of her own cable network, aptly named OWN – The Oprah Winfrey Network.

On the subject of starting her own network, the icon admits that the project of kickstarting her own network is her most daunting project yet.

According to her, she’s “very scared” about the thought of ending her long-running show to start from scratch all over again.

“I would wake up in the middle of the night literally like clutching my chest, like, ‘What have I done? What have I done?’ “
